To make this tool easier to use for everyone I'm making this page for those that may not have a lot of experience finding music and listing some methods that may make using the lists easier.

The first thing to remember is that the Artist list is by no means complete or necessary, it is only there to help you do the search on the album lists by entering the artist number. For example, on VA (Various Artists) cd's they are all listed by the artist who did the first track only, so if you go by that it would appear that the entire album is one of theirs. This would mean that on all those "Groovy Hits From The Smiling Seventies" albums, you would only have the artist for the first track listed with the album, and that unless they have other albums in Real Audio, (which would be unlikely for most since these albums usually contain 'one hit wonders') none but the artist for the first track would have their artist number on the artist number list. All the artists would have numbers, they just won't be on the lists unless they did the first track of an album available in Real Audio.

Knowing this, it is easy enough to get around. I would start with the link at the bottom to CDNOW and enter the artist's name, or song you are looking for into the search form and it'll give you a list of albums that that song or artist appear on. Let's say you are looking for "Going Tropical" by a group called "Grapefruit Elixer", use CDNOW to find out what albums that song is on (You should also do a regular net search since CDNOW does not have all albums available in Real Audio listed), and either through CDNOW or another source you discover that "Going Tropical" is track 6 on an album called "Fantastic Fruit Songs". Take notice of who did the first track and you can search for the album as if it was one of theirs, or simply enter "Fantastic" or "Fruit" into your find box and search for the album with the album lists. Once you locate the album use the Album Viewer tool to get the artist number for "Grapefruit Elixer" by entering the album number and changing the track number (album_disc_track_07.rm) to a six, you should see the level two information for the song you want, it'll have the album name, artist name, and the song name, now to get the artist number just click the little button that says 'edit' and as soon as your cursor box changes from yellow to green click back, now hit 'go to' and 'show last' and after A= will be the artist number for that song. For the PNM Tester, enter the album number, artist number for the track you want, the disc for that track, and the track number, try the variables and you should be in business.
